RE: Hit by car during a break from a MSF class

The thing car drivers dont realize is a little accident such as this can end with the motorcycle rider in a wheel chair.
People cant bother to pay attention and the motorcyclist is always the loser in these situations.
I would have exacted payment right then and there out of his hide.

RE: Hungry Valley

Thanks for the advice.
I realized I didnt have up to date registration or insurance cards in my RZR. Just fixed that so I should be okay.
One last question. I have a 39 foot TH 5'er with a 2 wheel drive dually Dodge. Will I have any issues with getting stuck if I drive in.
Happened to me once at Stoddard Wells and it took me a full day to dig out.
Otherwise if anyone is up there this weekend stop by and say hi.

RE: FUZION 373 OR 362?

I looked at both and went with the 362.
My wife liked the counter space/island but I wanted it open and I thought it cluttered up the interior.

RE: MegaCab and 5'er TH?

The truck is a dually. 07 Mega 6.7.
It pulls the 362 no problem. The truck barely knows it is back there.
I installed a Viarr on board air system which is great. I have a quick disconnect on the rear bumper. I can fill all the tires in about 3 minutes.
Great truck, great RV..

RE: Keystone Fuzion 362 Tires Issue

Thanks for all the advice.
I am going to keep an eye on the tires and we will see what happens.
Now, if I can only get my tongue weight issue sorted I will be ready for my next trip.

RE: quads and california coast beaches

Pismo is it.
If you are going to spend a lot of time at Pismo I would do it otherwise you are hauling them for nothing.
There are other riding spots just not on the sand.

Seems to work alright for me.
I have the Superglide hitch and the combo of the Mega Cab and the short box have been great.

If your battery is on it should register.
My sending unit was a dud, maybe that is it?

Hungry Valley

I am heading out to Hungry Valley for the first time next weekend.
I cant seem to find an address or directions on the website.
Anyone have any experience up there.
Are there RV spaces or is it just open space and you dry camp? Any hook ups? I saw there are reservations accepted.
What is your experience there?
I plan on heading up from San Diego on Thursday so I will beat the weekend rush.

RE: 6.7 Check Engine Light Issues

wayne tw had it right.
A simple re flash and the truck ran perfect again.
I am not sure how the truck runs perfect for 8K and then just gets weird.
EB works again as it is supposed to also.
One area of concern. The oil change required warning came on and they changed my oil only 900 miles ago.
They said if I drive around town a lot and babied the truck it would need more oil changes.
They also said it would cause it to go through more regeneration phases which would "dump more fuel into the oil".
I thought the fuel was dumped into the particulate filter.
Not sure they know what they are talking about.
I know I will be pissed if I have to change my oil every 900 miles.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks for the help.

RE: Keystone Fuzion 362 Tires Issue

I finally went to the tire store today.
This is a commercial tire store that does government vehicles, big rigs, all the way down to passenger cars.
The owner seemed like a straight up guy and has had the store for over 30 years.
Here is what he told me.
Almost all trailer tires are made in China. He said they make them under different names but almost all come from China.
He said Denmans are made in Mexico and Cooper makes theirs in the US but he said in his opinion they are no better than any other tire.
He said while my Fuzion tires wouldnt be his first choice there should be no major problems with them that I wouldnt have with any other trailer tire.
He also said when they are shot upgrading to a E rated tire wouldnt be a bad idea.
I am no tire expert but this is what he told me and I guess I will see how the rest of my tires hold up.

RE: forest river tire blowout

I just had a tire replaced on my trailer today and found some interesting info on trailer tires.
The guy who runs this store does all levels of tires from big rigs, cement trucks, garbage trucks all the way down to passenger cars.
He has owned the store for over 30 years.
He told me that almost 90% of trailer tires are now made in China.
The exceptions being Denmans which are made in Mexico and Cooper Tire which makes their trailer tires in the US.
He said all the companies are moving offshore to China as they cannot compete otherwise.
He also said the myth of bad chinese tires is all BS as they are mostly made there nowadays.
Seems like he was pretty sharp and honest but I am not a tire expert.

RE: Keystone Fuzion 362 Tires Issue

I am heading to the tire store tomorrow and see what they say also.
sasha_i, that is good advice.
I will call Keystone tomorrow and try and see what the rational is in upgrading and if there is a way for me to get there. Not going to hold my breath though.

RE: Ipod Hookup

Thanks for the advice and I know it sounds crazy but there are two external jacks and I plug into them but the ipod doesnt play unless the tv and DVD player are on and the DVD player is set to AUX.
It seems crazy and it is crazy and that is why I am frustrated.
Uhbubye2yu, on the front of the stereo on the right are two inputs. I got a cord with two male connectors on one end and input them into those and it has one male connector on the other side and put it into the ipod.
I need to call my stereo guy and get this sorted.

Ipod Hookup

Problem: I have a Keystone Fuzion 362 which comes with a Clarion Stereo.
I have connected my ipod to the stereo using the external jacks.
The problem is I can use the radio on battery power but to have the ipod play I need to keep the radio on, turn on the DVD player, change it to aux and turn on the television and change it to device.
In order to turn on the television and the DVD/CD player I need to turn on the generator which ruins everything as I want it to run off the batteries like the radio does.
The ipod shouldnt take any more power as it just plugs into the faceplace of the radio.
How would I be able to just plug the ipod in radio and it be able to play?

RE: Keystone Fuzion 362 Tires Issue

I think the Chinese excuse is hot air.
I use Maxxis tires on my atv's and they are considered the best their is. Their parent company is Cheng Shin.
I want to avoid dropping huge dollars on 6 new tires on everyone ranting over Chinese tires.
Let's not forget Firestone's issues with Ford a few years back.
I need solid advice because it will cost me a lot of money to replace all 6 at once.

RE: 6.7 Check Engine Light Issues

Thanks for the advice and I have read the owners manual.
My comments on the exhaust brake were I have used it for 6 months now and when going down a steep grade that I have gone down many times it seemed like it wasn't stopping as aggressively as it had been. I am aware of how it works and use it with the Tow/Haul mode. I have used it with this RV at least 50 times with great results.
When I noted it wasnt stopping like it used to and the check engine light went on 5 minutes later I thought there might be a bigger issue here than a simple reflash.
I am going to call the dealer in the morning and will post the result.
